In charge of SCR at JW Marriott Cannes, Carole Delattre tells us more about the hotel’s commitment to responsible tourism.
Born in Cannes, Carole Delattre is a fervent defender of sustainable development. “I started out in a firm specializing in maritime depollution and have always been deeply concerned by the stakes involved in social and environmental responsibility.” For almost 15 years, she has worked full-time for JW Marriott Cannes which, once again, has just been awarded the Green Key label 2025. “My role is to see that responsible and ethical practices are incorporated into all the hotel’s activities, in keeping with Marriott International’s Serve 360 programme, which aims to generate a positive impact on society and the environment.” This commitment is backed by training for the staff, regularly informed about good practices. “We organize workshops, for example, focusing on food waste, selective sorting, and participate in clean-up operations such as the one recently held for rock fill in Port Canto.” To encourage guests to play a part in this eco-friendly approach, they are given a QR code on arrival, inviting them, among other things, to use green modes of transport and explore natural sites in the Bay of Cannes. One of the hotel’s major projects is to adopt “thalassothermie” by 2026, using marine energy for heating or cooling requirements. “Borrowing the richness of nature to preserve it more efficiently: what better example of the virtuous circle?”
Sales of the Marcel soft toy, the hotel’s mascot, provide support for the Association Adrien for sick children. A cuddly and committed souvenir to take back home.
